Ex-Bell execs allege sexism
January 14, 2008 — britishginger(You should perhaps read the Star article first (link at bottom of this post), then read these comments of mine.)
My Thoughts: With the recommended reading of The Art of War, some human-relations snake charmer comes up with a psycho-babble corporate improvement system that in the 21st century seems to be the in thing for executives needing a “retreat.” Retreat? From what? the mega-$$$ and coveted perks and lifestyle of a top-job?
In amongst the naive, blinded by the charmers selling snake oil, or in this case, satellite TV, are the rest of us expected to believe these retreats improve workplace performance? While these same execs are dressing up and playing Rambo at 5-star resorts (pass the Jack Daniels, hold the ice) do they really have their heads so far up the corporate ass that they reckon they’re fooling anyone?
(I sat within a few feet of Michael Sabia at an event last June. He was dressed in an impeccably tailored suit with matching accessories, which makes it all the more difficult to imagine him with a bandanna wrapped forehead, wielding a machete, and gambolling to war music with the rest of the boys.)
Can’t imagine why Fran Boutillier and Alison Green wouldn’t want to join in.
Spoilsports.
Here’s to these women for calling corporate bull$hit like it is. And it’s about time.
