A little bit of a Profumo Affair

I am enjoying the sounds of 24 year-old, Welsh singer, Duffy (real name: Aimee Anne Duffy). At the left are three of her music videos - “Mercy,” “Rockferry,” and “Warwick Avenue.” I’d like to add more soon.
Duffy reminds me of Sixties London - shades of Christine Keeler, Mandy-Rice Davies, John Profumo (hence the post’s title) and a voice and style that would have been right at home in 1967… Lulu, Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield, Sandie Shaw. (Puppet on a String - now there’s a ’60s tune!)
I would have listened to her at breakfast, at home in London, and before school, singing on the Tony Blackburn morning radio show. If we didn’t hear her then, she would, undoubtedly, have appeared on the nighttime program, “Top of the Pops” on the telly.
Her voice is a refreshing change to some of the cookie-cutter voices and songs rampant in North America.
